WIP Update

This week I finished the developmental edits on an autumn-themed cozy fantasy novella. I’m cutting it a little fine if I want to get it out at the beginning of October, but I think I’ll manage it. Next week I’ll be getting started on line edits and hopefully can send it off to beta readers at the end of the week.

I might have been a little bit further ahead if I hadn’t gotten distracted by The Unmaking of Ruan Delaney. It’s already had 2 major rewrites and recently I deleted the whole of the second act. It’s proving the most difficult of any of my stories to get right, but I hope it’ll be worth it in the end.

I’ve also been trying to post more often on TikTok and start using Instagram properly. Social media and marketing really don’t come naturally to me (as I think is true for most writers I know). I’d much rather spend the time writing, but apparently people need to know a book exists before they can read it.

Keep your fingers crossed I don’t get distracted by another new story idea, otherwise it’s going to be November before I publish my Halloween novella.
